Common Questions

Mental Health & Psychiatry, answered.

What is integrative psychiatry?

Integrative psychiatry takes a broader view of your mental health. Instead of focusing only on a diagnosis or a medication, we explore how your physical health, hormones, sleep, stress, nutrition and daily habits may be affecting how you feel.

Do I have to take medication?

No. Medication is one option among several and it is always your decision. Some patients are treated with supportive psychotherapy, sleep and stress work, nutritional support or lifestyle change alone. When medication is appropriate we discuss benefits, risks and alternatives before anything is prescribed.

Can you treat ADHD by telehealth?

Adult ADHD is evaluated and treated within this practice. Evaluation includes a full history and symptom review. Prescribing decisions follow current Florida and New York regulations for telehealth, which we will explain during your visit.

What should I do if I am in crisis?

If you are in crisis, feeling suicidal or experiencing a psychiatric emergency, do not book an appointment or send a message through the portal. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room, preferably accompanied by a loved one or support person if possible.
